Our goal is to bring you top quality DMV licensed driver preparation WE DO NOT SHARE TIME WITH OTHER STUDENTS, PRIVATE ONLY STUDENT AND INSTRUCTOR, NO PIGGY BACKING (PICKING UP ANOTHER STUDENT WHILE WITH YOUR CHILD) with friendly and knowledgeble instructors, reasonable rates, convenient schedules, and "dual brake" vehicles. NO MORE THEN 2 HOURS OF INSTRUCTION IN ANY 24 HOUR PERIOD AND THAT IS 6 HOURS ACTUALLY IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT OF A VEHICLE, DRIVING NOT RIDING IN THE BACK SEAT WATCHING THE OTHER STUDENT DRIVE. . -- Ken Bailey
Getting Started The basics are somewhat more complex then they used to be, and there are different requirements depending on the student's age. (Scroll down the page to see details for minors.) You can also contact us (805) 736-1024, and we will help you get started. Essentially, the first step in obtaining a driver license is to go to DMV to take a permit test. The student must submit several pieces of documentation and pass a written test. REMINDER: After a teen receives a permit he or she must have ONE BEHIND THE WHEEL DRIVER'S TRAINING LESSON before driving with anyone. After the first lesson, the instructor endorses the permit to allow the student to drive with another California licensed driver over the age of 25. The permit must be held for six months and reach the age of 16 before obtaining a license, during which time the student must accumulate a total of six hours with an instructor and fifty hours with another driver. We usually plan for four lessons for most students. The initial lesson, then another one after a few weeks, and one a few weeks later, and one just before taking the driver test. Our schedules are flexible and we will tailor them to meet your needs. See the DMV Web site for complete instructions. To learn more about how driving schools are administered, the DMV Driving School FAQ has details. To see our DMV Driving School License Status, search this page with our school license number, 4041. Licensing Procedures for minors Obtaining a driver license in California involves several steps. There are different sets of rules for minors and adults. For rules pertaining to adults please consult the California Driver Handbook or www.dmv.ca.gov. Provisional permit and license information to obtain a provisional permit: You must:
